Quito, the capital of Ecuador, lies at an altitude of 2,850 m in the foothills of the Andes. As with all large cities with more than 2 million inhabitants, public transport is a big issue. The Quito Metro line, which has been built since 2013, brings great relief. With a length of 22 km it connects the stations Quitumbe and Labrador. In Quitumbe there is also the newly built depot in which the CAF trains and various maintenance vehicles are serviced. For this, Autolift has delivered 2 mobile lifting systems with 24 lifting jacks each with a lifting capacity of 10 tons. Due to the frequent earthquakes, these were fixed with anchors at the customer’s request and thus perform their service “well secured” at almost 3,000m above sea level.
